BE it remembered, That on the nineteenth day of October, in the thirty-sixth year of the Independence of the United States of America, Increase Cooke, of the said District, hath deposited in this office the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as author, in the words following, to wit, "The American Orator, or elegant extracts in prose and poetry, comprehending a diversity of oratorical specimens of the eloquence of popular assemblies, of the bar, of the pulpit, &c. principally intended for the use of schools and academies. To which are prefixed a dissertation on oratorical delivery, and the outlines of gesture.—By Increase Cooke."
